Andaman Islands!

I don't know about you, but I personally Looooooove Beaches than the hill stations! The sound of the wavesss..is just the most mesmerizing sound! I could play with the waves for hourrrs!

People normally just assume that Andaman and Nicobar islands are same bunch of islands. But did you know that Nicobar Islands are not open to tourists? They are protected islands where tribals live and people from mainland India are not allowed enter. So you can just visit the bunch of islands which are part of Andaman.

How to reach there :
One way to go would be flying from Chennai or Calcutta airport to the Port Blair airport.

Another option is to take the sea route. But I would not suggest it, because it takes a lot of time and there is the Seasickness! :(  (Trust me its horrible! When I went, there was a storm situation and the ship journey from one island to another was a nightmare!! :'(  )

Places to Visit :

  • First you can visit the famous Kaala Paani Jail at Port Blair. Its this huge jail...with multiple wings where many Indian Freedom fighters where sent off to before independence. The structure is pretty amazing though.
  • You also have many museums to visit, ranging from Historical to Aquatic museum. You can visit them according to your interests.
  • There are many islands and each have a different color of waters and sand. The one I love most is the Neel Island! The view is just breathtaking and BLUE! You can see coral reefs on this one...you can do scuba diving..you cannot play in the waters much though.. And Oh! Don't forget to grab the King Coconut on the way! They are sooo huge!
  • If you just want to play on the beaches then Havelock beach is a must for you..It is just this loooooong beach..it is never ending..There is no fear of drowning on this one.
  • You also have a safari to the parts of the islands where there are tribals still living. You can see them on the way. It is pretty amazing to see how they dress n look.
  • There is also this place called Baratang, where there are caves with stalagmites and stalactites.
I am posting the pictures of some of these places. Hope you enjoy it! :)
If you plan to visit this place...take atleast a weeks time out!

Leh-Ladakh,India : The place where the sky meets the earth

This is one of best hill stations I have visited! And I have been to maaaaany hill stations in India! You name it! It is said "Enjoy the journey more than the destination". Well this place fits the statement just right! The scenery is just breathtaking! You cannot take your eyes of the surroundings when you are travelling and the terrain just keeps changing every few miles! You can see the difference in the pictures below!

Did you know this? (Referring the picture below!)

The people here worship Lord Buddha. There are many monasteries and they are one of the main tourist attractions!

Everywhere you go you will get to maggie noddles! (Yummm Yumm! :D )

My favorite spots :

  • Well first! The drive! Everywhere you look around...you feel like you are driving in the skies! The terrain just keeps changing ..from red rock to sand dunes to pebbles and rivers to grasslands!
  • The Thicksey monastery...its on a hill and has a beautiful architecture.
  • And last but not the least.. The Pangong Lake.. this 100kms lake...which lies half in china and half in India.. is a beauty!
